Dad's Hat Pennsylvania Rye Whiskey

I thought I was drinking a pastrami sandwich. So much rye, delicious.

An unusual herbal-grassy nose and flavor until the rye rears up and bites you. This one is best with water or ice added.

Good rye for the cost. Some sweet notes and a good burn. I think this rye is young but aging their whiskey in quarter barrels allows them to produce a good product in a shorter amount of time. I am excited to see what Dad's Hat releases in the future. If you're in the Philadelphia area this is a fun distillery to visit.
