The Daftmill 2006 Summer Batch Release is the second ever release from the distillery. Daftmill is a single estate distillery located on Daftmill Farm, where they grow the barley used for their acclaimed single malt whisky.
Single MaltDistilled in pot stills from 100% malted barley, produced at one distillery, aged in barrels; if Scotch or Irish, must be aged for at least three years.
"The nose is light and floral with hints of rose petals and peaches, as well as white grapes. Whiffs of sweet vanilla and cereals too. Very satisfying. The palate is surprisingly spicy, with lots of cloves especially, and some nutmeg too. Fruits return during the finish, with lemon at the forefront. In some ways this is reminiscent of Rosebank, a closed distillery from the same region as Daftmill."
