Del Maguey VIDA Mezcal

Very smoky, but relatively smooth. A good sipper, though too complex to try to mix and a bit too aggressive to shoot.

Horribly unpleasant, unrefined, and a total drain pour. Reeks of a two cycle engine exhaust, burnt oil, hot kerosene, and melted shoe polish. I tried it in every conceivable way -- straight, on rocks, in margaritas, palomas, and more. It ruins everything it touches. The kitchen stinks like lighter fluid if I even open the bottle. I have a hard time believing this is anything but a joke, and for $35 a bottle, it's the worst money I've spent on a bottle in years.

Harsh rubber smell. Very smoky

Smooth and simple. A wonderful starter Mezcal, a wonderful staple mezcal.
