Desert Door Texas Sotol Original

Smells like tequila, clear as water, easy to drink neat, not smoky like mezcal but has a bit of smoke or oak flavor, earthy and muted sweetness. Nice, clean flavor.

Very smooth and relaxing drink.

The older batches were very earthy amd distinct. The new batches have a more balanced, but subdued mouth.

Smokey and dusty. A great neat or with a little water accompaniment to a Texas summer day.

Strong herbal notes on the palate with hints of sweetness. Tastes very “muted” though, you can tell it was diluted to proof. Makes a great mixer; far from bad but somewhat disappointing as a sipper. I imagine it’d be awesome at a higher proof.

Herbal spicy (like Bitters), sweet, a little hot, crystal clear

Butane (like a zippo wick), smoke, dry wood, grassy, earthy, also vaguely plastic straw (like when you chew on it) that said it’s interesting earthy smokey vegetal, and more sippable than my adjectives suggest. @ Gueros in Austin TX
