Reviewed May 12, 2021 (edited August 12, 2021)Ripe pear and sweet fruit on the nose. Floral elements come out the longer its in the glass. Palate is sharp - - not from the alcohol, but a crispness of flavor. There are no rough edges to the palate but there is an aspect to the flavor that I think might be solved by a few more years in the barrel. Oak enters on the front and is supplanted by a growth of pepper on the back palate, especially on the sides of the tongue before fizzling out in the finish, which has a dash of vanilla and light floral again. Somehow pleasing despite being disjointed. -

Reviewed April 21, 2021 (edited August 12, 2021)It's actually a bit hot compared to what I expected. There's some vanilla and citrus, honey, and a puff of wood. The barrels are evident and do provide a semi-scotch palate. The wine influence pops and provides the bright fruitiness. In the end, it's Irish whiskey...but still a good sipper. At $100 a bottle there's no need for this in my life. -

Reviewed August 19, 2020 (edited April 19, 2021)I love love love this whisky. Originally bought after doing a tasting at the distillery in Dingle, Kerry. Bottle opened after a year, when Issy's parents were visiting from Germany! The tasting at the distillery was great - trying whisky from each of the sherry, port and bourbon casks each, before tasting the final product was a really big help in being able to pick out the flavours. This carried back to drinking the bottle with friends. This is a very smooth whisky - triple distilled and it tells. On the nose, creamy, toffee. Palate - alcohol, flows into the vanilla, dried fruit and malt, with a lovely burn after and lingering finish of biscuit.74.95 GBP per Bottle
