Water is added to bring the spirit down to as low as 37.5% ABV in the EU and 40% ABV in the US. It is usually filtered, often with charcoal, prior to bottling. It is almost always clear and unaged.

"Robust and expressive, Dutch Tulip Vodka PURE lives up to its name. Lots of green and floral notes, as well as some mustard seed. The palate is creamy and mineral. There are hints of licorice and aniseed, but the greener notes do prevail, especially on the finish. This is a special spirit, one to sip neat. If you love a cocktail, this will prove something to endlessly experiment with. "
