Mother-in-laws cabinet, round two!
The use of “extra smooth,” “mellow,” “rare blend” and “finest brandy” on the label…
Aromas of fennel? Rubbing alcohol? Pear? Ice chest?
Surprisingly non-toxic - sweet, jammy, honey chew candy, pleasant old oak notes, tad of allspice. Not bad. Not blind. I could actually finish this! I won’t, but I could.
Between this and Johnnie Walker Red I would pick this.
Nose - pineapple, grape, apple, banana, vanilla, light barrel spice, high ethanol burn.
Taste - apple juice, grape, banana, caramel, more nondescript sweet fruity notes, prickly oak, high alcohol bite, finishing quick with fading fruit sweetness and young alcoholic caramel flavors.
It’s pretty bad. Not pleasant to sip at all. Definitely a mixer and nothing else.
