El Dorado 15 Year Rum

For me, a superior rum. Sweet yet not cloying. You can taste the oakiness of the barrel, honey, chocolate, and butterscotch. Has a thicker, fuller feel to it. A certain sipper that on the finish gives you that warm feeling like just coming in to a nice fireplace after being out in the cold. I like slightly better than Ron Zacapa 23 and much more than the Zacapa XO.

An excellent rum served neat. I felt like I could taste the added sugar up front, but it gets better as you go, with a nice mid-palate oaky flavor and a more balanced and pleasing finish. Was hoping for a tiny bit more out of this pour, if I’m honest (and due to the abundant praise it receives), but you could certainly do much worse. Will definitely try this again.
