El Tequileño Blanco Tequila
El Tequileño was founded in 1959 by Don Jorge Salles Cuervo and today his grandson Jorge Antonio Salles is its Master Distiller. The blue weber agave used by the brand is sourced from Los Altos in Jalisco. For the blanco expression, only 71% agave is used with the remainder being piloncillo (an unrefined sugar) making this a mixto tequila.
It rests for 14 days in American oak before bottling. No additives are used. (SRP $25-28).

Tasting Notes
"The aroma is of moderate intensity with herbal, grassy notes and lime peel. As you taste, the tequila has a medium body with a peppery, minty finish. Flavor is bittersweet. Further tastes brings out a little wet stone in there as well. Finish is on the short side and a little too bitter and peppery to be a pleasant sipper. But fine as a mixer."
