Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch B520

This is the best bourbon I have ever had. My bourbon journey is young, though. This isn’t the cheapest nor is it the most expensive bottle in my 20 or so bottle collection, but this does something magical in your mouth that I haven’t ever experienced from a bourbon. It’s like diving head first in a giant tub of cinnamon and vanilla cotton candy.

On the nose I get a lot of dark fruit with obvious wood and peppery scent. The palate follows the nose. Finish is shorter than expected given the intensity of the nose and palate. This is a drink that imo, benefits from a small amount of ice. Far too intense to have more than two fingers in one sitting. Not a drink for those looking to get drunk. This is a drink to slowly contemplate and a resounding success.

Nose: Heavy and with a barrel note Pallet: Complex all spice that will zing the nose and tongue Finish: Long and hot, the spice follows through. Needs to be the last on the tasting panel due to the high proof, this is a great night sipper with a small cube of ice to open it up. This is my first EC barrel proof and I will pickup another on this year.

Nose: intoxicating nose. Lots of caramel, some smoky char, and as it opened up started getting more tobacco notes. I get some black tea notes as well with just a touch of spice. Palate: caramel and oak are the dominant flavors I pick up. It does drink a bit hot. Finish: caramel and oak bounces back and forth with some dark red fruit in the back ground. Really complex and really awesome nose. Only knock on this is it hits hard and hot in the palate.

B520 Wonderful Carmel and high quality vanilla on the nose, palate consists of the same vanilla, cream, morphing into a little more rye flavor. Finishes with quick bandaid rip as the heat gently Sears and toasts.

Standard nose... vanilla and caramel with a stronger oak note. Sweet initially with a stronger rye finish. Definitely one of the best affordable barrel proofs of this year.

Fucking delicious.

Significantly strong and holds extremely well with ice.
