Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch B520

So much flavor. Initially it's HOT. 127 proof hits hard with lots of barrel spice, but then you get caramel and vanilla to soothe things out. Really nice bourbon.

Chocolate covered espresso bean, cinnamon, black pepper, menthol.

I don't know what else a bourbon could be that this isn't. Amazing.

I've been a firm believer of enjoying your quality spirits neat, but this right here made me cry uncle and had to toss in a block. Call me a wuss, but the burn was quite potent and didn't subside as I've experienced with others. Don't get me wrong, you'll enjoy this thoroughly as did I. But wanted the calm the flames so to speak. That way I can focus on the wondrous notes within. The nose contained lovely arrangement of creamy caramel and vanilla candies. A touch of leather and burnt wood also. All this goodness continued on to the palate, but with the additional fall essences of baking spices. As the sipping progressed, I detected undertones of corn also. Superb! Looking forward to trying the toasted barrel next from EC!

Great flavor, not much burn. Brown sugar, vanilla, classic bourbon flavors and a long finish. Frighteningly easy to drink.

Unreal! Really opens up and displays all of that is has to offer with 2 small ice cubes.
