Elijah Craig Small Batch Bourbon

Elijah Craig is the bourbon I give people to start them into bourbons. Its pleasant, inoffesive affordable and manages to be all of these while maintaining a distinct identity. I have yet to find someone who hates this and I’ve met several who love it. The barrel influence is clear on this spirit but it adds that lively young wood taste american spirits have to a surprising degree on something so young. That young toasty wood carries this spirit for me.

Nose: kettle corn, vanilla, coffee, apple, nutty I get some apricots and a slight spicy, herbal note after the first sip also. Palate: buttery mouthfeel with sweet caramel, oak, baking spices, corn flakes, and red berries on the back Finish: medium to long, oak and spice. Fruit, vanilla and tobacco finish it out with a little Kentucky hug. This has an excellent nose that especially appeals to me. A classic bourbon palate with a nice long finish. A great mid proof bourbon at a great price.

Vanilla, spice, tannins and smokey

Slightly less ethanol on the back end than kirland. Cinammon, some caramel, and little spice on the back end. Decent in an old fashion. Not sure if id make this my own daily sipper. Would buy again to try again, but not as a handle. Dont buy as a handle unless you really loke this
