Elijah Craig Toasted Barrel Bourbon

Copper color. The nose has notes of green apples, orange rind, caramel, and vanilla. Light body. Tastes young, herbaceous and woody (oak, pine) with some malt character, not getting much of the fruit or sweetness from the nose. The finish is fairly short, youthful spice lingers, woody notes are dominate. Not bad, but not something I would seek out again.

I enjoyed this pour! It had some heat and spice upfront which I liked, then the marshmallow-caramel-vanilla sweetness followed. Wish it finished a bit better and the viscosity was in thinner side. For the money I think I would rather a OF1910 or Woodford DO, but that’s just me. Definitely worth trying for yourself!
