Evan Williams Black Label

$27.99 for a 1.75 liter, but was on sale for $24.99. Bought this one on the Distiller App rating, and wasn’t disappointed. There is sweetness and a little rye spice from the 10% rye mashbill. Easy drinking and flavorful neat, the 100 proof BiB iteration would probably be better for mixing, but why would you mix bourbon?

Poured neat. Nose: Youthful with hints of dark chocolate, corn dust, and burnt sugar. Palate: Candy corn, mild oak and a slightly sweetened herbal tea. Light and watery, not spikey or offensive. Quick finish with a lingering tobacco flavor. Probably not going to win any blinds, but a decent pour for tailgating, mixing cocktails or socially sipping.

This is a good daily sipper bourbon. Vanilla, oak, caramel and a hint of leather on the nose. On the first sip I got apple, floral and honey notes. The finish definitely has some drying spice feel. I get a lot of corn on the finish. For a budget bourbon this is a nice whiskey that could be enjoyed in a lot of ways.
