Decent for price. Makes a good old fashioned. Mild astringent taste

Definitely sweet. More butterscotch than caramel at first. Rye tastes like more than the listed 10% of the mash bill. The oil almost has an antiseptic quality and the pepper is there. Maybe a white pepper and not black? Had an Ardbeg 10 immediately prior to this tasting, likely throwing my palate off. Excellent value at $13, but not one I’d share neat with a guest.

Pretty damn crazy that this only has a 3.3 overall rating. Pretty sure those ratings are from people who aren't used to 50% or just judge a whiskey based on price. This is definitely something you should try if you're a fan on Bottle in bond bourbon. I got sweet vanilla, caramel and banana bread on the nose and warm apple and caramel on the taste. The finish had some toasted oak with a light spice. I'm going to do a blind tasting in the next 2 months with Henry McKenna 10 BIB. I absolutely enjoy Henry McKenna and am curious as to which one I'd rather have. Don't trust the lower scores on this. For $15, this is an awesome buy. Hope everyone stays safe and gets through this bs so we can all continue drinking that "water of life."
