Reviewed March 9, 2022A bit thin with a lot of spice notes - think black pepper and cinnamon. Not a lot of esters but there's a little bit of red apple in there. About medium finish and not a lot of complexity. I would say it's about on par for $30 -

Reviewed February 27, 2022 (edited March 5, 2022)From the start it was just different in a very nice way. It smelled and tasted like bourbon but subtlety different. The oak nose was earthy, ashy and fruity. The first taste mirrored those characteristics. It was a very satisfying, relaxing tasting - Ahhhh..... I sank deeper into my armchair and enjoyed the experience. The top of the bottle was the best. The second half of the bottle was not quite as pleasurable as the first half. Still good! But just not as it was initially. I should have finished it more quickly. FWIW, this was barrel #908, barreled on 9/27/13 and bottled on 7/16/21. -

Reviewed February 6, 2022I was a little disappointed, but then I remembered how much (or little I paid for it) and immediately loved it. It is a solid easy sipping bourbon. Traditional bourbon flavor. Drinks hotter than the proof. Excellent finish. -

Reviewed January 29, 2022Barreled on 9.27.13 Barrel No. 866 Bottled on 7.16.21 Overpowered nutty taste, not nutty notes, but a robust nutty flavor. Honestly thought I accidentally bought peanut butter whiskey. It seemed like a very good value for a single barrel under $30, but based on other reviews it seems like I may have had a bad barrel? I would love to find someone with this vintage from a different barrel to compare. -

Reviewed January 14, 2022 (edited January 27, 2022)Tasting neat in a rocks glass. Very warm nose with Cocoa nibs, honey, clove, and maple. Attack is sharp and mellows out in the mid. Loads of tobacco, woody, and nutty flavors. Good finish leaving a vanilla flavor, and desired burn. A dimensional bourbon for $45 price point.
