Production started on Ezra Brooks around the 1950’s by the Medley Distillery. Today it is part of the Luxco corporations line of products, though Heaven Hill is the one making it. It is similar to Jack Daniels in appearance and marketing but slightly higher in proof. And unlike Jack Daniels it goes through charcoal filtering after the aging process rather than before.

Tasting Notes

"This is a mouthful. The bouquet is a sandalwood platter serving up a bed of toasted grain, pressed vanilla, and peanut brittle. The palate is juicy and miraculously balances a circus of extreme flavors, clarified butter initially, roasted peanuts, char marks, vanilla, and wood tannins on the finish. This is one worth sipping all evening."
