Finger Lakes Distilling is a New York State Farm Distillery, which means they must use locally grown products to create their spirits. To that end, they are located on a vineyard in one of New York's premier wine regions. The Pear Brandy is a handcrafted, European-style eaux-de-vie (un-aged). The whole pear, pulp, skins and all are fermented then distilled in a copper still. Note: This is sold in 375ml sized bottles and available only in New York State.

"An interesting aroma of pear skin, popcorn, butter and golden hay starts off the journey with more aromas of unripe oranges and pear. There is no doubting this is a pure fruit-distillate and appealing to anyone who longs for a day on the farm. Smooth but not laid back on the tongue, quite full-bodied and with a surprisingly rich mouthfeel that was kept secret by the austere aromas. Plenty of good stuff going on here and it finishes long with some soft fruit, and an urgent but not unwelcome heat. Enjoy neat but if that's not your thing, it would be lovely in a hot toddy or place of vodka/gin as a martini variation. "
