Four Roses Small Batch Select Bourbon

Nose of chocolate, oak and leather. First sip is astringent that fared to oak, cherry, chocolate, and leather. Nice back end heat that doesn’t die too quickly. Good flavor neat. A splash of water opens up the leather and earthy tones the bite is lessened but still a welcome present. A much better sipper after a drop. Very good bottle.

The strong ethanol nose is off putting...but the palate and finish have no ethanol flavors, and for the high proof it is very smooth and delicious...especially on ice!
