Reviewed April 25, 2024Foursquare 2010 was recommended to me as a sipping rum worth splurging on. I’m a whiskey drinker and have been trying less expensive rums and like them all, more or less, but this one is truly an eye-opener and worth every penny. Sweet, with very rich aromas and flavors of vanilla and oak, plum butter, dates, stewed fruit, dark brown sugar, cocoa, and baking spices. There’s a lot going on in this rum. A hint of tobacco ash appears in the finish. Foursquare 2010 is rich and strong enough to stand out in a cocktail or a mixed drink, but I can only imagine drinking something this delicious neat so all the aromas and flavors are unadulterated and have a chance to shine.84.99 USD per BottleHi-Time Wine Cellars -

Reviewed January 12, 2024 (edited November 7, 2024)On the nose brown sugar, oak, vanilla, coconut, banana, pineapple, baking spices. On the palate all of the above, along with a distinct tobacco note going into the finish. No real surprises if you've had Foursquare, but just rich, decadent, elegant rum. Drinks lower than 60%. No small feat, but I think this may be better than 2009. Foursquare's ex-bourbon aged ECS keep hitting it out of the park. I will say it doesn't rise to the level of depth and complexity of the 17 year Isonomy, but that may be the best bottle I have in the cabinet at the moment, of any spirit. The Pappy of rum indeed. -

Reviewed January 7, 2024 (edited December 2, 2024)Rum for bourbon drinkers. All about the barrel. Burned sugar, fudge, sweet but not too sweet, hot, but it takes water fairly well. 2 dec 2024: just compared it to some cuban rums, they are much more interesting. -
