This pours dark and rich mahogany. You can almost tell what you are in for by simply looking at the glass. The first sip is cedar and walnut. There's a syrupy caramel that binds the wood tangs together. The proof is present throughout but is never overpowering. There is also a leather and tobacco flavor in every sip. The finish is a menthol, medicinal slow burn. Overall, this screams American whiskey while being unlike bourbon. Drinking this makes me feel like I'm wearing wranglers next to an old horse saddle with a wad of chew stuffed in my cheek. There's a lot going on here but I see no need to ever restock a bottle at around $180.
