Went through half a bottle before this review.
NOSE: Full of complexity, although accompanied with a strong ethanol component unless it's rested for almost 20 min. Even then, it's still there. Great balance of char and sweetness though- I almost prefer the nose to the taste on this one.
PALATE: Hot - almost hits like a 110 proof or a high rye. Aside from the heat, very sweet. Definitely hints of char, sweet maple and vanilla. Slightly oily/buttery, but overall, doesn't stay on the pallet very long.
CONCLUSION: Tough call... My qualifier always is, "will I buy this again?" Answer - maybe. It won't be my next 'must buy'. But it's unique enough that I may spring for its sweet hotness again. But I'll have to be in the mood to spend the cash on this vs. something else of potentially better value... I'm not disappointed I have a bottle though.
