Perhaps the most unique the most subtle and the best entry level rye. The taste of rye is absolutely self explanatory ever presentIt's not rough around the edges and it's not Super Bowl but that's OK but that's ok because it's there it's present
Color: Gold / Amber
Nose: Vanilla | Slighty Floral | Herbal
Mild for rye especially after recently reviewing the Willet 4 year rye. Very pleasant nose but subdued.
Palate: Light mouthfeel. Like the nose, the palate seems somewhat subdued. The typical rye spice is present but not overwhelming. Still hints of vanilla but you have to really search for it.
Finish: Short finish. Almost zero heat. Incredibly easy to drink without being blasted by spice. Not much stands out here otherwise.
Aroma: light aroma overall; sweet maple and rye grass on the nose
Palate: starts sweet with caramel and maybe a hint of lemon; comes in with rye punch and mixed peppery spices in middle; fades to sweet maple
Finish: hints of sweet maple with mildy hot bite at end
Overall: shockingly delicious and complex as a sipping rye for its price point
