George T. Stagg Bourbon (Fall 2018)

Nose: Smoky, yielding to vanilla, tobacco, cola. Palate: Cherry, apple, cinnamon, charred oak. Not nearly as much of a scorcher as some other Stagg releases - this one is more refined, but without losing any of the rich, oily mouthfeel or the full-bodied flavor that makes Stagg a king among bourbons. Finish: Caramel, dark fruit, and oak last forever. One hell of a sip.

more mellow than the stagg jr. classic in its style but still not my absolute favorite style

This is my first time trying GTS. Neat in a glencairn glass with Christmas dinner. It smelled great without a harsh alcohol burn. It tasted sweet and I had a hard time believing it was 125 proof. Coated the mouth well and lasted. Probably the best bourbon I’ve had.

so much flavor. hard to beat!
