I now understand why there is a cult surrounding this bourbon. Did I overpay? Yes. Was it one of the single most delicious things I’ve tasted? Also yes.
Cherries, cherries, cherries.
The nose and palate are very similar with a lot of sweet cherries. Think Stagg Jr Batch 14 turned up to 11.
Long and hot finish. Smokey.

Inexplicably, the nose strongly resembles a milkshake. Cherries and cream for days. Palate has notes of baked apples, with some mesquite smokiness. The finish is long and bold, with plenty of smoke and spice without being overwhelming.

Nose: Burnt sugar, vanilla custard, caramelized bananas, rich oak
Palate: vanilla, butterscotch, drying oak with slight barrel spice and cinnamon
Finish: Long and warm, cinnamon spice mixing with black pepper and welcomed oakiness
