Glen Scotia 15 Year
Single Malt
Glen Scotia // Campbeltown, Scotland
Campbeltown was once considered the "whisky making capitol" of Scotland with 28 distilleries. Of those 28, only 3, including Glen Scotia remain.
Though they no longer malt their own barley, they source it to very specific details, using longer fermentation and vatting methods than in the old days. Released in 2015 as part of the brand's relaunch, this Scotch was matured for 15 years in ex-bourbon barrels before bottling.

Tasting Notes
"That telltale Glen Scotia salty, malted chocolate-covered pretzel flavor is even more enhanced in this outing. Candied ginger, lemon & grapefruit peel, and ripe stone fruits add texture. A cedar-wood spice note with a puff of smoke dries the sweetness out a bit toward the finish. Best served on a porch at sunset overlooking a coastal view, or at least with this image called to mind in lieu of a nearby ocean. "
