Glen Scotia 1832 Campbeltown
Peated Single Malt
Glen Scotia // Campbeltown, Scotland
Glen Scotia was founded in 1832, and this whisky was produced to honor the heritage of the brand and region. Campbeltown, once considered the whisky capital of the world, is now home to just 3 distilleries. The 1832 Campbeltown has a higher peat content and is bottled at 46% ABV. Available in travel retail in liter-sized bottles.
Peated Single Malt100% malted barley from a single distillery. Dried with peat.
Cask TypeAmerican oak, finished in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks
"There's a noticeable sweetness from the PX casks, but it's not extremely well integrated. Sweet notes of dates and brown sugar, but also leather, peat and oats. The palate serves up a better interplay between sweet and smoky, with a pinch of salt thrown in. Overall not the most balanced whisky, but it certainly does its job."
