GlenAllachie 12 Year

Nose out of the bottle is painful. Taste was surprisingly pleasant compared to the expectation. Higher alcohol content but not grainy, more of a winey after taste. Bits of a Caribbean cask to it, maybe banana.

One of the better 12’s. A great standard for Sherry aging. Would pick this over Glenmorangie 12 Lasanta any day.

Nose: dry fruits, honey, vanilla, sweet, sherry, very lovely nose, very. Pallet: Pepper, spice, honey, cinnamon. Finish: Nice medium, very nice.

I'm getting sweet vanilla, lush fruit, a little oak. This is a delicious and seems really well crafted. Its actually a little reminiscent of some American Single Malt to me .... a bit of a bourbon fresh cask influence though I assume they aren't using any fresh casks. Regardless, the distillate is lovely and makes me want to explore more Glenallachie.
