I'm getting sweet vanilla, lush fruit, a little oak. This is a delicious and seems really well crafted. Its actually a little reminiscent of some American Single Malt to me .... a bit of a bourbon fresh cask influence though I assume they aren't using any fresh casks. Regardless, the distillate is lovely and makes me want to explore more Glenallachie.

Very pleasant nose. Nice light fruitiness - a subtle berry from the flam, mixed with a little salty citrus note from the distillate. Very light smoke. On the palate the mild peat and malty sweetness hits first, with a nice tingle and oakiness on the medium finish. Overall nice. The wine finish is subtle.

Loch Lomond 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands , Scotland
Reviewed April 23, 2022 (edited July 25, 2022)Amazed at how good this is for $40. Lovely orchard fruits and very subtle salty smoky notes on the nose. The palate hits similar notes with a liitle oakiness and a slight tingle from the 46%. The finish is long, lingering slight bitterness from the oak but not unpleasant. Honestly shocked at the value here. -
Old Forester Single Barrel Bourbon Barrel Strength
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 18, 2022 (edited December 8, 2022)It's old fo turned up to 11. For me, it needs a cube or a splash of water (I can't handle 65%), but once you do that it's still bursting with flavor - I get the medicinal cherry, banana foster, thick, rich, delicious. Mmm. -
