Grilled plums, honey, rum raisin ice cream and caramelized sugar on the nose.
Mild spice and red berry jam on the palate.
Dark chocolate and dried fruit on the finish.
Slightly sweeter and spicier with a little more of an "edge" than Macallan. Macallan is smoother but tends to be a little one dimensional with the dried fruit notes.
With Macallan phasing out the 12 this is my new sherry dram in the rotation.
