This is a beverage that could have further developed characteristics of you added just a drop of water, but I didn't do this because I was enjoying it in its pristine element. Surprised with this malt as I have tried a few glenfiddich in the past and never was a fan. Given its price point, it’s a new go to. Sweet, light spice, very well balanced for a very reasonable price.

Tasting neat: Nose of charred oak, vanilla, caramel, and green apples (smells amazing!). Palate is soft and smooth with subtle smoke, caramel, more apple. Finish lingers with a bit of astringent smoke, oak, and butterscotch.

The nose is very inviting with toasted marshmallow, toffee, vanilla, graham cracker, and candy apples. The palate is smooth and sweet at first with cream and toffee, but develops into a spicy oak. The spicy oak continues into a medium length clean finish. This malt is much different than its 12 and 15 year cousins, and surprisingly I think I prefer it to either of them.
