Glengoyne Cask Strength Batch No. 008

Reviewed December 1, 2022Nose - caramel apple, honey, pie crust, roasted malt Palate - caramel and honey come through. Pecan pie. Viscous mouthfeel. Finish - apple pie, brown sugar This is a pleasure to drink neat and my first Glengoyne. Classic highland profile shines through thanks to restraint with the sherry casks. I'm starting to understand what people are referring to when they say a single malt is old school. Drams like Glenfarclas, Glencadam and Ancnoc seem to use sherry casks as a compliment and not the main attraction. I would put this Glengoyne in that group. -
