A Tale of the Forest is a limited edition single malt release from Glenmorangie created by the brand's Director of Whisky Creation, Dr. Bill Lumsden. The third in the "Tale" series, A Tale of the Forest is made by kilning the barley used in the whisky with woodland botanicals including juniper berries, birch bark, heather flowers and a little peat.
The whisky is aged in bourbon casks including refill barrels. Bottled at 92 proof, it's available in the US as of October 2022. (SRP $102.

Tasting Notes
"Flipping the script on barrel-aged gins, this unique offering from Glenmo is a fun ride. It begins with those woody botanical notes, particularly the juniper berries and the hint of peat. But there's also a bright malty note along with vanilla cream. As you taste, the peat smoke stays with you, but it's a secondary note here. The whisky is moderately sweet with honey and orange peel and the finish is bittersweet and lightly peated. Would maybe like the finish to stay a bit longer, but overall it's a fairly balanced dram. Enjoy on a chilly evening with a warm fire if you can. "
