Tasting neat:
Nose is all over, with red apple flesh and oak and heat after multiple sniffs.
Plate is scrumptious with dark red berries, chocolate cream and wood spice.
Finishes with woof spice and more creamy vanilla.
My tastes are changing. Glenmorangie always used to be too sweet for me, no bite. It still is to some extent. Maybe it’s the sherry cask that gives it a light fruit twist, but this is incredibly soft and smooth and drinkable.
Sherry is strong and beautiful. The honey maltiness comes with a bit of tangy flavor too. It got a rich body too. However I still prefer the original and port cask over the sherry cask finish on Glenmorangie. Plus over 50 bucks is a slight pricey.
