Tasting neat. Pretty smooth, but with a little ethanol bite to perk it up. Nose is fruity, sweet, vanilla, oak, agave, pepper. very pretty. Taste is crisp, candy like, with some raw agave, vanila, and a hint of cinnamon spice, then black pepper. The finish is dry and sweet with agave, saccharine, and oak.
I wouldn't characterize it as rich as the distiller review states. It is definitely sweet.. on getting a little close to too sweet, but it's not 'thick'. The extra age adds some vanilla and spice to give some harmony to the overly sweet plata. I generally prefer the blanco versions, but I'd go with the reposado on this, just for the balance.
