The allocated bottles are definitely different somehow than the post-allocation supply. The former were much more nutty and less enjoyable. I would give those a 3.25 rating. The new stuff is fire!!! If you can find it for $50 it's a steal.
On the nose this one offers vanilla, honey, and oak. First sip offers a spicy note of black pepper up front and a smoother finish with a char undertone. Ice removes most of the burn up front and allows for the other notes like oak, char, and smoke shime through. This is a good offering in a long list of BIB’s.

Copper color. The nose has maraschino cherry syrup, rose water, and fresh ground cinnamon. The mouthfeel is medium-bodied and hot. The palate has dark cherries, black tea, candied walnuts, roasted peanuts, and black pepper, with cinnamon chewing gum and ground nutmeg. The finish was disappointing - fairly short and tannic, with strong notes of young oak and cinnamon toothpicks, and fainter notes of cherry cough syrup and black pepper.
