Heaven's Door Double Barrel Whiskey
Blended American Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed April 13, 2024On the nose i found hints of vanilla, oak, and green apple. First sip offers a good spicy burn, oak, char, and leather. Ice offers some subtlety to the first sip but leaves it mostly unchanged. There was slight twinge of tannins at the end. This is a good one and im glad to have some again. -
On the nose there is a strong vanilla amd toches of leather and brwon sugar. First sip has a good initial burn of peper, oak, leather, and char. The burn and mouth feel is complete amd throughout the taste. Fishish is subtle and longers a bit. Ice doesn’t change much but there is a slight subtlety in the longer and burn. Solid offering and worth picking one up.

On the nose there is a strong aroma of brown sugar, pecan, and maple syrup. First sip is soft on the pallet and has the obvious notes listed above. My biggest observation is this would be good to cook with, over waffles, or adeed to a Sunday morning cup of coffee. When ice is added there is the illusion of the liquid thickening and becoming more of a cough sryup consistency, although that could just be my perception. This isnt very complex from a bourbon standpoint but offers other advantages like cook-ability or ised with other foods. Im not rushing out to get more but i will enjoy it while I have a bottle.

On the nose its very soft with hints of green apple and fruit. First sip tastes like a true irish. No frill, no wine finish, no BS. This has the right spice with apple, oak, toasted and char, and a slight vanilla finish. Ice changes nothing. This one is great and can be enjoyed anyway you like it. I highly recommend getting this one. It was very affordable and worth every penny!!

Very light on the nose with nothing standing out. On a second nosing with my nose almost touching the juice I get a little vanilla. First sip is easy and without spice. The vanilla is there along with some slight peaty and a little sherry on the finish. Ice cube doesn’t offer anything new but takes out all spice and leaves the remanents of oak, char, and a himt of sherry. This is an easy sipper and could be dangerous with a friend and some ice.

On the nose i get dark fruits and berries like plum, raisin, and blackberry. There is a slight hint if honey on the nose but hard to find. First sip is soft and full of dried fruit, honey, and a touch of sherry on the finish. Ice improves on what was already smooth. Fruit, toasked oats, and honey are all rounded out by the sherry finish. This is a great whiskey and should be on your shelf.

On the nose there are hints of spice, fruit, and caramel apple. First sip offers a light and quick burn mid tongue. The oak barrel, fruit, and rum find its way through during the finish. Ice softens the spice and pulls out the oak and rum. This is a good evening sipper and can be enjoyed anyway you want. Great price so I recommend.
