Hemingway Rye Whiskey Signature Edition
Rye
Hemingway Whiskey Company // USA
Signature Edition is the flagship rye whiskey from the Hemingway Whiskey Co. This first batch is made from a blend of straight rye whiskeys: 90% 6 year-old Indiana rye whiskey and 10% 4 year-old Kentucky rye whiskey. The Kentucky rye portion was crafted by Master Distiller Jacob Call at Western Kentucky Distilling Co., home for Hemingway Whiskey Co.
Both ryes were finished in rum-seasoned oloroso sherry casks — casks which were sourced from Jacob's father, Papa's Pilar Master Distiller Ron Call. Available online and in-store in selected states in the US beginning August 2023. (SRP $79.99).

RyeUnlike bourbon, rye whiskey can be made anywhere in the world. But if made in the US, the mash bill recipe must be at least 51% rye and it must be aged in new, charred oak barrels with no age requirement. Elsewhere, the rye whiskey will be made keeping the country of origin's rules regarding the recipe and minimum aging.

Tasting Notes
"The aroma presents more sweet than the whiskey turns out to be. And while the rum can be detected on both the nose and the taste, you still know you're drinking a rye whiskey. Coconut and vanilla is detected, but the rye notes are there as savory and toasty elements. The body is medium-full with a moderate rye spice providing some depth. And while the taste begins sweet, it turns into a peppery bittersweet finish with baked apple accents. Not quite a whiskey to have for dessert, but definitely would work in a stirred cocktail like an Old Fashioned or a Manhattan. "
