Hennessy Privilège VSOP Cognac

Hard to zero in on the aroma; there’s a lot of alcohol stinging my nose. Quite whiskey-ish. Tastes like caramel and dried apricots along with a little salty burn. I’m still getting used to cognac so I’m not sure how this stacks up but it does seem a bit less smooth and lush than I’d expected. Overall I like it but I think this is a gateway drug to something better.
