Marquis de la Fayette // France
The Cognac La Fayette lineup comes from the house of H. Mounier, with a heritage dating to 1858.
Maturation for their expressions includes an opening period spent in new oak, before moving to used casks. The brand's namesake fought in the American Revolutionary War before returning home and becoming a central player in the French Revolution, and the cognac is meant to match his status as a visionary and pioneer.

Tasting Notes
"The nose offers berries and cream, vanilla, crème brûlée and incense. The palate is rounded and velvety, with overarching floral tones along with orchard fruits and baked apple galettes. In the background there are also faint grass and chili pepper notes. The short finish showcases oak, leather, cinnamon, cardamom, and honeyed fruits."
