Henry McKenna 10 Year Bottled in Bond Bourbon

Overrated bourbon for me. Way too harsh. More like an 86/87. Not sure how this won whiskey of the year. Old Ezra 7yr. should have won in my opinion if we're trying to keep it at low cost affordable bourbon.

ethanol smell at first, lighter floral scents underneath, but not quite sweet to me. vanilla extract taste with heavier oak bitters on the very long finish.

Nose - Vanilla, caramel, cookie. Taste - Mint, big rye spice, long peppery finish. Drinks much smoother than you'd expect for a 100-proof bourbon.
