Strong oak upfront on the nose. Then toffee and brown sugar aroma with medium alcohol burn. Incredibly smooth and rich with an overwhelming vanilla character. Just a touch of spice on the finish. Less spicy than most ryes - I’m guessing the finish in port barrels mellows out the typical spicy rye notes.
