High West Cask Strength Bourbon

First pour of this bottle and i was really impressed. “Palmetto State” barrel (State of SC pick for those who don’t know). Nose was really impressive. Can’t wait to try this one again.

Wood polish, hay, honey, caramel, apple fritter, powdered sugar, vanilla nose. Palate follows through with more apple, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg. Spicier than expected and no complaints. Long spicy apple finish. This would be worth stacking up against other apple pie bourbons like Elijah C barrel proof and Old Ezra 7yr.

Nice bourbon blend. On the lower proof side of cask strength but everything you’d want out of a higher proof bourbon.
