High West Distillery's Yippee-Ki-Yay is a blend of straight rye whiskeys aged between two and 16 years. The blend now includes a parcel of self-distilled whiskey in the form of an 80% rye, 20% malted rye whiskey. Other whiskeys include a soured 95% rye from MGP, and a sourced 53% rye, 37% corn, 10% malted barley from Barton. The rye whiskeys are finished in French oak barrels which held vermouth and syrah wine.

Tasting Notes

"Cinnamon and cocoa powder arrive first on the nose, with red wine, lingonberries, and a medicinal kick. The palate is a bit thin up front, before opening up with baked apple and cherry pies, the sugary dried fruits of trail mix, and brandied cocktail cherries. The finish showcases leather, tannic oak, black pepper, and cloves, with more tart berries and red fruits. "
