This is the second release in Highland Park's Cask Strength range which was launched in 2020 and is a permanent part of the distillery's core range. This second batch is aged predominantly in sherry seasoned European and American oak barrels with some ex-bourbon barrels included.
It launched globally in August 2021 and will arrive in the US in late October/early November 2021. Bottled at 63.

Tasting Notes
"Salty buttered pastry, kelp, grapefruit, orange peel and briny smoke fill the nose. The palate takes on richer flavors of dark chocolate, salted caramel, hazelnuts, cappuccino and fresh red apples. Funky textures of buttered movie popcorn, balsamic vinegar and flamed citrus peel add to the briny, peaty characters of the midpalate, leading to a salty-sweet, smoky finish that goes a bit hot. The overall flavor effect is that of eating buttery, salty pastries with lemon curd near a beach bonfire. "
