Reviewed June 29, 2023 (edited August 2, 2023)A lot of wood on the nose, with the oak giving a fresh-cut oak and medium char aroma. On the palate, things are tight, and solidly in the arena of a classic Straight Bourbon. Some light baking spice, reticent sweetness, medium cask char and a heavier mouthfeel. This almost tastes like a barrel proof expression, and can easily handle a decent splash of branch water or a few rocks. A solid addition to the portfolio.
