I.W. Harper 12 Year Bourbon

Tried it neat first and added water later. Nose: caramel and butterscotch First taste: sharp and burning (despite only being 43%ABV). Mid and aftertaste: same as nose, with a pepper finsh. After water. Taste: opens up with banana notes. Decent to drink but no need to own a bottle.

Tasted in November 2022 at Malt Bar Ester in Nakano, Tokyo. Circa 1980s. A little thinner than I wanted. Big peanut aroma, and the taste had a nice fruitiness.

Very interesting find. Bottled in the 80s but smooth as can be. A little hot initially but short finish with sweet nose of butterscotch and clover
