Runs rigns around old no 7, but imo not big enought for the hype. Light caramels and vanilla dance around before some moderate oak, hay, black pepper and slight leather kick in. theres a bit of fruitiness reminiscent of weller 107 but doesnt come off as intense. The finish is medium length with a mildly peppery/baking spice and slight sweetness. More oak appears right before disappearing off the palate. Its a good whiskey but idk if id go the lengths others would for it. im content with single barrel and if worse comes to worse, bonded. nice to try though.
