Comparing this to the original Jameson Irish whisky, the colour is slightly darker, the flavour is rich and creamy. That hint of beer comes through subtly but nicely and overall makes the whisky very smooth, smoother than the original in my opinion.
I also love the story of how this came about, that Jameson sent over a whisky barrel to the neighbouring brewery for their experiment of craft beer with Irish whisky barrels, borrowing those flavours. Those barrels were then sent back to the Jameson Distillery to be used again with the stout flavour to bottle the whisky, each getting there own blend out of the agreement.
