Jefferson's Ocean Aged at Sea Voyage 23

Tried at a restaurant, picked at random. Nose: sweet, caramel with a hint of plastic. I was pretty sure I wouldn’t like it, based on the smell. SIL: Totally different experience. Corn and brown sugar with some vanilla. Very smooth. A hint of baking spices. Finish: where it shines. While the finish is only medium length, you are breathing baking spices and vanilla and maple syrup. No burn at all. Very satisfying. Pleasantly surprised by the tasting notes and the smoothness.

My absolute favorite. Hits hard with caramel and salt at the beginning and then Melows out. Such a distinct flavor.

Nose is nice, you get some oak and fruit, tiny whiffs of alcohol, honey. Palate flavorful considering the proof. Really nice oak notes on this, vanilla, caramel, hint of cherry, cocoa, rye spice, “salt” but not in the way you’d think, it’s subtle as if there was a drop of saline solution in my pour, it rounds everything out nicely. Finish comes back through my nose a bit, you get a little Kentucky hug too. No water needed on this one IMO. Overall it’s really good, worth the money though? Questionable.

woody notes, dry, strong bite, little bit of salt/spice on the finish. I would say it’s intense or full, but kind of one note, which makes it more of an easy drinker than an intriguing one. Which is kind of what I hoped for with the story of how it’s made.

Tried the original Jefferson’s before trying this one. This has much more flavor and spice. Solid bourbon but over priced.
